Faerie emerged from the depths of Christine Lam’s soothing, fluttering vocals and metaphorical songwriting. This 24-year-old, independent singer/songwriter is based in NYC and is influenced by pop, jazz, and folk sounds. Listening to her dad play guitar inspired her to learn how to play on her own. At a young age, she started her own YouTube channel so the world could hear her voice.
In her high school years, she was enrolled in her school’s chorus and theatre program. She also took 7 years of voice lessons, which added to her performing experience. Christine performed in Carnegie Hall for The Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York awards ceremony in 2013.
Around 2014, she decided to pursue songwriting and recording music. Her first SoundCloud account was born. This was a gateway to collaborating with other independent artists. This passion eventually leads to winning a singing contest hosted by One Direction and Sony Music Entertainment. In 2019, she was invited to sing at TedxChelseaPark with Hannah Lauren. They sang cover songs representing the theme of "Unconventional Journeys."
While in college, she was enrolled in a songwriting course which later on leads to writing a song called “Come Hell Or High Water” for Rider University’s Jazz Ensemble (Vox Blue). Christine graduated in 2018 with a BA in Arts Administration (Music Concentration). She wishes to pursue her career in music management and songwriting.
As of July 2016, she decided to change her name to Faerie. Faerie welcomes you to her world of dreams, fantasy, and lust. Her debut single, "Fever Dream" is out now.
